During Folkemødet 2023, several guests stopped by the tent to try the project’s newly developed Virtual Reality experience, which depicts the journey of a surgical patient from admission to recovery.

The other Virtual Reality experiences presented by Berfin Gurini and Maria Høeberg Madsen from Khora, as well as Karsten Lassen and Anja Geisler from Zealand University Hospital, were also popular.

Debate on health technology

On the same day, Karsten Lassen, Maria Høeberg Madsen, and the director of Danish Life Science Cluster, Diana Arsovic Nielsen, participated in a debate on health technology in the tent.
All three agreed that innovation is crucial for the healthcare system. However, Karsten Lassen emphasised that new technology must be adapted to the users.
“It is important that the technology can be applied in practice – it has to work for the patients and for the staff,” he said.
Another point raised in the debate was expressed by Maria Høeberg Madsen – that companies develop products they want to sell to a market:
“If the product works, we want to sell it afterwards. We need to move away from the idea that selling something to the public sector is taboo.”
